Heidi Watney, born May 19, 1981 is an American sportscaster from the United States. The first time she was a National Merit Scholar. She was accepted into the University of San Diego with an academic scholarship. She was awarded an honors degree in 2003. Watney was the first runner-up for Miss California USA 2002. Watney started her work at KMPH-TV (FOX 26), Fresno, in September 2003. When she started as a daytime traffic reporter, she became a the anchor of sports on weekends and eventually weekday reporter. [3]Watney relocated to Massachusetts in 2008 and began her work for New England Sports Network. She was a Boston Red Sox gameday reporter. Watney was also the host of the Ultimate Red Sox Show, Red Sox Report and Red Sox Report. In January 2012 Watney began her career at Time Warner Cable SportsNet in Los Angeles as a journalist for LA Galaxy. But, she was hired by MLB Network in November 2012 where she spent nine years.
