Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco was born in Canada, and is now American. She has released over 20 albums of studio work. DiFranco's music has been classified as folk rock as well as alternative rock, but it has additional elements of punk, funk, hip beat and jazz. The widely regarded feminist icon Grammy winner Ani DiFranco is considered to be the father of the DIY movement being one of the first artists to create her own record label in the year 1990. DiFranco was the child of Elizabeth (Ross), and Dante Americo DiFranco. They began their relationship at The Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her father is of Italian heritage, while her mother hails from Montreal. Ani Difrasco wrote and recorded the hit song "32 Flavors". It is featured on the album Not a Pretty Girl by Ani DiFranco that was released in 1996. Another version of the song appears on the film soundtrack for the 1999 Canadian romance film Better Than Chocolate. DiFranco has since apologized when it became known that she was scheduled to hold the three-day event on an Louisiana ex-slave plantation. Although she cancelled the workshop however, a lot of people (including our paper) were not able to feel guilt. DiFranco released a new apology days later. While she is known for her role as Little Peoplesinger, she has been in contact with a myriad of musicians and artists, from Pete Seeger through Chuck D until Prince. She lives in New Orleans. Ani DiFranco is married to Kristen Ford. In just 14 months, DiFranco began writing her own lyrics. Her teens were spent playing them in pubs and coffee shops. DiFranco, who graduated aged 16, at the age of 16, from Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts High School began to attend classes at Buffalo State College. The new baritone she got was custom-built by Alvarez, made by Chrys Johnston who at that time was working as the Alvarez artist rep. It comes with the System 600 preamp and has all solid woods--a top made of cedar, mahogany on the back, sides as well as an Ebony fretboard. The owner reside in New Orleans, with her family: husband and two sons. Lefty is their dog pet who is with them when she speaks. Singer-songwriter and punk/folk musician Ani DiFranco ascended to musical hero status at the age of 25 among both fans as well as critics, with her seventh studio album Not A Pretty Girl in 1995 and even greater popular success with Dilate the following year. The pop-rock hit song from 1972, Brandy (You're a gorgeous girl) was written by the American group Looking Glass for their debut album Looking Glass. Elliot Lurie wrote the song.
