James was selected for his way onto the NBA 75th Anniversary Team in 2021. In 2022, James became one of the few NBA player to earn 10,000 career points. James played basketball at St. Vincent St. Mary High in Akron Ohio, where he lived his entire life. Media across the country portrayed him as a potential NBA superstar. He was in the process of becoming a professional and was the first selection of the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Draft in 2003. In 2004, he was named NBA Rookie. Then, he quickly was one of the league's best players, and won the NBA MVP title in both 2009 and 2010. James went free agency following his failure to earn championships in Cleveland. He made the decision to leave Cleveland to join Miami Heat, announced on the show on television The Decision, is considered as one of the most controversial free-agent decisions in the history of sports.
